Executive Committee


The student Executive Committee, elected by the Council, meets monthly or as needed to handle day-to-day affairs as determined by the Exec Comm President and IM Manager, including:

  • Oversee the work and training of the sports managers
  • Handle protests and forfeits
  • Ensure that the IM program runs as smoothly as possible
  • Vote on any changes proposed to the MIT IM Handbook
  • Address/plan for future issues and concerns in the IM sports program
  • Educate MIT students about the MIT IM sports program via the IM bulletin board / showcase, the IM website, and meetings with participants

Congratulations to the 2016-2017 Intramural Executive Board Members!

**President: Alexander Dalzell, Class of 2017
Alex is a senior in course 8 and 18. Has played many IM sports since coming to MIT, especially Ice Hockey, Dodgeball, and Indoor Soccer.  He has served as IM Exec President since June 2015.
**Vice President: Trevor Day, Class of 2017
Trevor is a member of the class of 2017 majoring Mechanical and Ocean Engineering. As a member of Kappa Sigma, he has captained many IM sports and served as the organization's athletics chair. More recently he has been a sport manager for Ultimate and Foosball. Trevor is seeking to expand publicity for IM sports at MIT in order to increase participation. He is also seeking to expand IMs to include e-sports.
**Sports Expansion Chair: Craig Mascarenhas, Graduate student
Craig is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate student who has been actively involved in IMs in his first year at MIT. He has enjoyed participating in multiple IM sports for GAME, including tennis, soccer, badminton, etc. He also acts as IM Chair for the Graduate Association of Mechanical Engineering (GAME). Craig is looking forward to adding new sports to IMs in the coming year, as well as expansion of currents leagues to incorporate a more diverse participation across the board.
**Graduate Member-At-Large: Lee Weinstein, Graduate student
Lee is a PhD student in the mechanical engineering department. He has played IM sports all his years at MIT, including captaining teams for soccer, dodgeball and kickball. Lee has been on the IM executive board since 2014, and his work on the board has included adding refereed leagues to IM soccer.
**Undergraduate Member-At-Large: Andrew Wong, Class of 2019
Andrew is a undergraduate freshman majoring in Course 6-3. This past year he was involved in IM basketball, flag football, indoor soccer, and volleyball as the Phi Delta Theta athletics chair. He strives to make IM sports even more exciting and engaging by working to improve attendance and team cohesion.
**Undergraduate Member-At-Large: Matt Nicolai, Class of 2018
Matt is a member of the class of 2018, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Management.  He has been the Intramural Chair for his fraternity, Delta Kappa Epsilon, for this previous year.  He also serves as team captain of softball, soccer, dodgeball, basketball and volleyball for DKE.
**Undergraduate Member-At-Large: Sarah Stern, Class of 2019
Sarah is a member of the class of 2019 majoring in Biology. This year she is the athletics chair for Alpha Chi Omega and is involved with IM sports in that capacity, in addition to playing as a team captain and participant over the past year. She looks forward to playing IM sports throughout her time here and to becoming more involved with the IM community this coming year.
